One of the most important structural changes that take place the last years in the field of education is the incorporation of Environmental education in the first degree and secondary education. This tendency imposes teachers who with ... will support programs of environmental education in order to create the suitable activities in the school environment.
The environmental education has, however, small presence in the programs of basic education, as well as in the educational activities that aim on training teachers who materialise such programs. Many times, the activities related to environmental education is disputed as far as its content, methods, definitions and achievements of relevant programs are concerned.
Therefore, the resulting subject can be supported by the extent of positive influence and raise of awareness by these programs of environmental education on students, regarding current environmental matters. And in order to examine the length by which the school networks extend the views and feelings of students that participate in programs of environmental education, there should be a record of these attitudes in multiple levels and they should be compared on the basis of how much different they are than those of a team of children that has not attended such environmental activities.
The present research was realised in two teams of children aged 11 - 12 years consisted of 20 individuals. The difference between the two teams lies in the fact that a team had attended a program of environmental education and the other team of children had not participated in any relevant program. During the research, the students' opinions on environmental problems were studied by accounting which matters they think are the most important and why, who they believe are responsible for these problems, how they believe that the situation of the environment in the future will be and which are their sources of information for the knowledge they possessed on the environmental matters.
From the results of the research, it became obvious that the factor of attendance in programs of environmental education, was not found to influence statistically in a significant factor the opinion of children on the environmental problems, as far as the seriousness of the situation, the culpability of people on the situation and their personal ambitions for making things better in the future are concerned. There did not exist statistically important difference between the children that participated or not in programs for the environment.
