This research examines the connection between multicultural education and children literature. This paper includes an educational course for cultural awareness of children to the topic of refugees. The first part of the paper is a literature review about multicultural education. In this part many aspects of the topic are analyzed. This part continues with literature review of children literature and focuses in multicultural literature. In the second part the educational course that is proposed is presented with many details, before and after the implementation, with the comments that are needed to understand the way of implementation. In the end of the paper the results and the new ideas for a better course are presented. It is concluded that the use of children literature with certain activities following the narration of a suitable story in the classroom can make children more culturally aware for refugees
