Children’s literature and special education: (Bachelor thesis)

This paper attempts to approach special education, especially people with disabilities, through the perspective of children's literature. It is a subject that has not been analyzed much but only sporadically. Firstly, the theoretical background is recorded, which is necessary to guide the reader to a better understanding of the paper and the meanings it intends to pass. The theoretical framework is structured around the terms: definition of children's literature, thematology, ideology in children's literature and finally the heterogeneity in children's literature. Next, books of children’s literature that have in common the people with disabilities are analyzed. An analysis of history is attempted, an outline of characters, social environment attitude towards people with disabilities, solutions proposed by his / her respective author, ideological position and conclusions. At the end of this paper there are listed the conclusions made after the overall writing and reading, regarding the contribution and impact of children's literature in the field of special education.
