Professional development of administration and leading staff in education: theory and research (Master thesis)

The aim of present Master’s Dissertation is the Administration and Leading Staff’s professional development in education based in theoretical and research data. Firstly, the content of professional development is approached and the necessity, the basic elements ant the most popular models of professional development according to Greek and foreign bibliography are mentioned. In addition, the content of training is approached and especially the need of Administration and Leading Staff’s training in education is emphasized in order to perform their duties efficiently as the legislature requests. In the empirical part of this dissertation, the professional development, training chances and the Administration and Leading Staff’s role in education are examined through semi-structured interviews with participating Administration and Leading Staff in Xanthi. The findings of the survey may be useful to Administration and Leading Staff in education, teachers and other researchers
