In the beginning of the 20th century, the conceptions and ideas about teaching in Europe are realigning and the teaching methods, which used to be based on the passivity of the student, are now being replaced by a new teaching stream, that is being represented by the "School of Work". This new stream is strong and promotes self-motivation, freedom, team work and expands the mental horizons and the psychology of the students. One of the warmer supporters of this new method is Maria Montessori, who introduces the well known Montessori system, a system which is currently implemented with great success in over 20.000 schools around the world. The Montessori school focuses on the growth of the student's personality, the development of their mental abilities and the achievement of discipline, which is inherent in a child's soul. The main goal is to motivate a child to explore the world and choose themselves the activities they want to do, always under a teacher's guidance. That way, a child is much more likely to become mature and independent. The content of montessori activities is based on the development of both the physical and mental abilities of children. Montessori teachers use a variety of teaching materials, that motivate and awake the student's interest, as much as the walks and conversation, methods that open their minds and horizons. Based on the above, the present essay aims to acquaint teachers' point of view on the montessori teaching method at schools. The research includes 50 teachers of the 300 primarily selected, who were called to answer a questionnaire. The results prove that this method has a great response in the Montessori schools of Sweden and a really positive impact on the students, who seem to take part in every activity, according to their teachers. However, the results cannot be generalized, as the survey sample is small and thus, we cannot be sure whether this perspective answers in all montessori schools
