The ' metacognition ' has acquired in recent years an important place in educational research. The potential for a better understanding of how children learn, and the teaching of the holding, have brought to the limelight. For a few years, " metacognition " has been proposed as a rewarding way to uncover the ways in which readers organise, check and restore any deficiencies in their reading comprehension, while offering ground for successful teaching in the use of strategies that support and teaching interventions for readers of all levels with the aim of reading strategy. This paper attempts to explore the field of metacognition in relation to dyslexia regarding literature that studies the relationship and dealing with proposals that teach metacognitive strategies and develop metacognition and reading comprehension to students. Students with dyslexia have less and deficient metacognitive knowledge, while holding less and less effective cognitive and metacognitive strategies in relation to their peers who are good readers. Not actively monitor the progress of their understanding, and when they do not have neither the resources nor the incentives to act remedial and bridge the gaps that resulted sense. They try to avoid engagement with reading texts not to fail, because constantly experience strong negative emotions. This results in the removal of the learning process and empowering the vicious cycle of failure. Thus, this paper analyzes the relationship between metacognition with dyslexia and how appropriate metacognitive strategies can improve cognitive processing of speech and reading
