The greek education during the period 1936-1949: οpinions of students of that era (Bachelor thesis)

This final project report examines the major events that took place in Greece, in education the period 1936-1949, such as the Metaxas dictatorship, the Occupation and the Civil War. Mentioned, among other, the first chapter that presents the historical events that took place during this period in order to provide a fuller picture of the subject, while the second one is a presentation of educational events. This research aims to examine whether the above historical facts influenced the education. The empirical part provide information on the qualitative research method that was conducted and namely the methodological tool that was used (interview), the sample, the objectives and the assumptions that were made and the key findings on which the research was led. Among the final opinions, the basic education existed as in many cases schools did not stop, the pleasant school climate with friendly and approachable teachers. On the other hand, similar situations did not occur in the Civil War. In conclusion, the main induction is that education was affected by the prevailing conditions of the 1936-1949 periods
