This work was performed in thesis preparation within the Department of Primary Education, Democritus University of Thrace. The purpose of this is to explore the experiences of various people who lived during the Occupation and the Civil War (1940-1950), on the education sector. This period is always at the centre of historic interest, as it is a period that rocked the Greek nation. By imposing the tripartite occupation, in 1940-1944, the Greeks suffered many hardships under the foreign yoke. Their main objective at that time was survival, resulting in other issues such as education was neglected. In this context, significant is characterized the effort to reorganize education through the "popular education plan." However, because of the difficult times, nothing was applied in this project. With the departure of foreign forces from Greece and the outbreak of the Civil War (1946-1949), nothing has changed in education. For this reason, and of course for political reasons, the "Mass Children kidnaping" project was implemented, by which Greek children was sent in the Democratic Republic countries. The aim was the care and education of children, giving them a better life than they would have stayed in Greece in the civil confrontations. In conclusion, for the empirical part of this work, was conducted a qualitative research with a research tool the interview. Subjects were selected by convenience sampling and a total of 14 subjects aged 75-96 years. The investigation found that training during the Occupation was sidelined, despite the efforts of reorganization, while the Civil War was a great emphasis on the care and education of children through the "Mass Children kidnapping"
