Μπεζιργιαννίδης, Γεώργιος/ Bezirgiannidis, Georgios

Demotic song and paraloges, a prominent category of it, occupy a special place in Modern Greek literature. Oral tradition, including folk poetry, works as a tool for collective expression and literacy pleasure of Greek people. The value which is given today to these products of Greek spirit, reflects the ability of people to compose in their own particular way elements of the rich ancient Greek literary heritage and to carry forward them with his experiences and fundamentals during the last two thousand years. At this procedure of composition and transportation of literature, paraloges, narrative and recitative songs associated with ancient tragedy, play main role. The importance of demotic song is great not only because it is proving national continuity but it is also working as a mean of communication in human societies. Hence, there is a need to create a special educational framework related to demotic songs and paraloges. This work is developed in order to investigate the assumptions above about our demotic song, especially from the aspect of its performance, and to make suggestions on how to use paraloges as a communication framework in school. Looking at the bibliography, it is obvious the fixed and natural evolution of demotic poetry, which, of course, includes decay. However, the rich communication environment of song with prominent features the collectivity and the re-creation can be transferred into school practice through many literary or other student works during the Language course
