The present study aims to examine the readiness of teachers and primary schools concerning crisis management. Crises, which a school might face, can be caused by natural disasters (earthquake, fire, flood), human action (divorce, domestic abuse, violence among students) and death. Central objectives of the present research are to demonstrate the more frequent causes of school crisis, to examine teachers’ views in regard to crisis management and their readiness in case a school crisis arises. For this purpose, a research has been conducted on a sample of 50 teachers from 5 primary schools belonging in the Municipality of Alexandroupolis. The research tool used was a questionnaire as it is a valid and reliable tool in educational research. The results of the study reveal that teachers have faced at least one school crisis at their schools. A divorce between parents is the most common crisis teachers have to face while natural disasters are less likely to appear. Teachers actually consider themselves as the most appropriate to face a crisis. The school readiness for crisis management includes mostly action plans for crises which cοme up from natural disasters
