Educational material for teaching the critical issue of climate change on children aged from 4 to 8 (Master thesis)

This work focuses on definitions and concepts that have to do with the critical issue of climate change. Primary Education is the framework in which these concepts are integrated. Particularly, in this work an educational material on the environmental issue of climate change is proposed for children ages 4 to 8, meaning the children from nursery grades to 4th grade of primary education. Initially, some key issues of Environmental Education are refered, such as educational approaches and ways of studying the environment and environmental issues. Continually, not only the concepts of the composition of the natural environment, the climate, the causes, the consequences and the ways of dealing with climate change are clarified, but also their inclusion into the framework of Primary Education. In the end, after mentioning the basic principles for designing and developing an educational material for the environment, the educational material on climate change is proposed in the last two chapters. This material is predominantly based on the third chapter including research and childrens' perceptions on envilonmental issues and climate change.
