Ποιες συγγενείς ανωμαλίες εμφανίζονται συχνότερα στα παιδιά που προέρχονται από τεχνικές υποβοηθούμενης αναπαραγωγής; (Master thesis)

Introduction: Despite the relatively experience from the use of assisted reproduction techniques, there are still concerns about the development of children from assisted reproduction and related concerns about the potential risks. The purpose of this study is to systematically review the literature on possible congenital anomalies that may occur after using assisted reproduction methods. Material-Method: According to the instructions of Cochrane Collaboration, the studies related to the subject of the present review were searched by the International and Greek bibliography using the medically accepted bibliographic sources. Conclusions: The results of the systematic review of the literature confirmed relatively higher rates of genetic and chromosomal abnormalities and congenital malformations for assisted reproductive babies compared to fetuses from spontaneous conception. Further studies are needed to determine the true role of infertility and, consequently, the different assisted reproductive methods used.
