Ενδομητρίωμα και υπογονιμότητα (Master thesis)

Αλή Ογλού, Εϊλέμ

Endometriosis is an enigmatic and mysterious gynecological condition that can be present at birth and has serious effects on a woman's body such as infertility, chronic pelvic pain, psychological burden, spontaneous miscarriages or even loss of genital organs. Its pathogenesis is supported by various theories. Since 1860 Von Rokitansky has made the first detailed description of the disease, where many other theories have been proposed regarding the pathogenesis of endometriosis, but no one has fully interpreted this pathological entity. This review of recent publications will take into account the main symptoms of the disease, such as pain and infertility, as well as its pathogenesis, diagnosis and classification. Endometriosis is disti-nguished in peritoneal endometriosis, ovarian endometrioma and in-depth invasive endometriosis and exhibits significant phenotypic diversity, with different types of endometriosis foci often found in the same patient. Disease management, surgical management and medical and alternative therapies will be discussed. Special reference will be made to the understanding of patients with endometriosis, endometrioma and in particular the treatment of endometrioma.
