Μηνά, Μαρία
Endometriosis is a benign disease characterized by the presence of ectopic endometrial tissue outside the uterus. It mainly affects women of reproductive age and displays a variety of non-specific symptoms, which often makes the diagnosis difficult and. It is a disease with different locations, stages, and different phenotype in each woman. Furthermore, endometriosis affects significantly the female fertility, but it doesn’t always obstruct physical conception. It is, also, very important to understand the pathogenesis of endometriosis, its appearance and the way it affects the fertility of women, so that we can recognize it, diagnose it, individualize the treatment for every patient and treat each woman in the most appropriate and right way for her.
