Αξιολόγηση των διηθητικών φυσαλίδων μετά από τραμπεκουλεκτομή και ένθεση βαλβίδας Ex - PRESS χρησιμοποιώντας το Visante οπτική τομογραφία συνοχής (Master thesis)

Aim: The quantitative and qualitative imaging of the characteristics of the filtration bleb, their evaluation and analysis, and the correlation between them, after trabeculectomy and implantation Ex-PRESS shunt using Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography AS-OCT Visante Model 1000. Methods : Twelve eyes from 12 patients (50% male), age 68,67 ± 8,50 years (Mean ± SD), were examined after 7 to 14 months of filtration surgery from Visante optical coherence tomography at the Alexandroupolis University general Hospital in Ophthalmology department. Results: Post-Op IOP in correlation with Pre-Op IOP shown (p = 0,001 < 0,05 ). The parameters of filtration bleb were compared with published research and presented with [20], [21] and [32] ( width base bleb : p = 0,118, p = 0,797 p = 0,355 maximal internal height : p = 0,202, 0,411 and p = 0, 405, minimum thickness of wall : p = 0,000 p = 0,004, 0,004 and reflectivity : p = 0,298 and p = 0,151), respectively. Significant differences observed in reflectivity (p = 0,012) and in bleb morphology (p = 0,002) between functional (IOP < 20 mmHg & without medication) and non functional filtration blebs. Statistically significant positive correlation between width base bleb and time elapsed between surgery and examination (r = 0,858, p = 0,029). No statistically significant differences were observed in the comparison of parameters between trabeculectomy and implantation Ex - PRESS shunt, between diffuse functional and non functional filtration blebs and between Pre-Op IOP and PostOp IOP. Conclusion: The diffuse functional filtration blebs were not statistically significant with non functional and that is necessary for a new investigation. The trabeculectomy with Ex-PRESS didn’t show any statistical significant, as in the case.The correlation with others researches has many similarities except for the minimum wall thickness.
