The concepts of Europe and the European Union (E.U.) are intertwined. The vision of the United Europe, today the European Union (E.U.), has its roots deep into the historical background of the European continent. The European convergence demonstrates the decision of the European countries to cooperate in all sectors. Education is the driving force
in the process of the European integration. The union educational policy, respecting the subsidiarity principle, adopts actions and initiatives, in order to develop a sense of “belonging” to all European students. Important tools, so that the students develop a common
European identity into the diverse European framework, are the European Educational Programmes. Greece, as a partner, participates equally in the European Union (E.U.) and follows the common European policies in all areas including education. The school textbooks and
Learning Object Repository (LOR) Photodentro, as the main educational goods and means of ideology, but also the programmes proposed by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs make true the goals of education promoted by the Greek state. The research objectives of this study are to explore the visibility of Europe and the European Union (E.U.) within the texts of the language course of Primary Education, but
also to highlight the trends among the students of the same levels of education, regarding the European Union (E.U.) and the contribution of the innovative European Programmes. The research was carried out at two levels. Firstly, the explicit or implicit messages -which are recorded in the school textbooks of Primary Education that are used at the
language lesson and at the texts of Learning Object Repository (LOR) Photodentro-culture and concern Europe and the European Union (E.U.)- were examined. At the second level, partly using texts and textbooks, the opinions of the recipient students of Primary Education
(10 – 12 years old) about the European Union (E.U.) and its policies, but also about the contribution of the innovative European Educational Programmes (Erasmus+, Teachers4europe, eTwinning) were explored.
