New technologies and mainly those technologies which can be related to mobile devices are gaining ground in an increasing number of users worldwide. Young people seem to have a great interest in these technologies since 2012. Both children and adolescents tend to use their mobile devices daily for numerous needs, such as networking,
entertainment, and learning. The mobile devices (mobile phones, tablets, PDAs, e-book readers, smartwatches, etc.) have become a part of our society, which opens up a new research field for their use in education. Also, the Thracian multicultural environment determines the ideological framework, in which all social interactions take place. If policymakers want to shape citizens to meet future challenges, then education should not be cut off from the sociocultural developments of
society, but instead exploit all possible capabilities to improve current status. This dissertation is an empirical study of the school community’s lifeworld in an intercultural school, by using digital means. The research aims to show the invisible subjective perspective of the school and to identify latent relationships between the important aspects that make up the students’ lifeworld. In other words, the main goal is to
investigate the conditions, which in particular contribute, first of all, in the school’s orientation towards a new student-centric model and secondly, in the process of transforming opportunities for desired goals, into real possibilities. Also, it points out the scientific documentation of the essential role of new technologies and portable devices in
enhancing the student’s creativity and the learning process in terms of user’s interaction and aesthetics. The collection of qualitative research data was accomplished using custom social networking software developed for this purpose. In order to analyze the data, it had to
be encoded in 32 dichotomous variables (true/false), based on three dimensions: lifeworld/literacy practices, subjective interests/emotional literacy and identity/school. The analysis was done with the assist of two descriptive statistical models, first of all, with Logistic Regression, which is used to make predictions based on the dependent observed
variables, and secondly with the Latent Class Analysis (LCA), which identifies relationships between the observed variables, and which verify the latent phenomena.
