Knowledge and attitudes of kindergarten students on recycling in Eastern Attica (Bachelor thesis)

Τριανταφύλλου, Ευαγγελή/ Triantafillou, Εvangeli

In this thesis, a basic attempt is made to describe and analyze the knowledge, attitudes and views of infants and toddlers, regarding the issue of recycling. The environmental problems that prevail on the planet and especially in our country are described, the categories of waste and the ways of their management are presented, and relevant information is given, especially for recycling issues. Further to the above, Environmental Education is briefly presented as a probable tool for dealing with the current environmental crisis. The methodology used in the present research to capture the views of young students is the interview. The results show satisfactory knowledge of students and quite positive attitudes towards recycling. However, it is shown that there is a need for a more systematic approach from the students toward such issues, through carefully designed and age-focused environmental programs, and therefore a better preparation on the part of teachers who teach at specific ages.
