Υδρολογική διερεύνηση του ερυθροποτάμου Διδυμοτείχου (Master thesis)

Erythropotamos is located in the north part of Evros prefecture and constitutes a stream of Evros river. The intercontinental basin of Erythropotamos has a total surface of 1609,9 km2, 970 km2 of which belong to Greece and the rest 639,9 km2 in Bulgaria. It springs from East Rhodope and in particular from Sapka Mountain at 1259m altitude, between Evros and Rhodope unified districts near Mega Derio.The river, further on, crosses the borders between Greece and Bulgaria in Haskovoprovince near Gorno Lukovo. Further on, in Bulgaria, it crosses beside the Greek and Bulgarian frontier for some kilometers, and then, enters Greece as high as Skeve Cladenech and Alepohori, crosses Ladi, Mani and Kufovuno settlements, and disgorges to Evros river, south of Didimotiho. This paper aims to calculate and estimate the water potential of Erythropotamos ultimately aiming at the estimate of total streams basin at the exit of the basin, in Evros river. Water research of Erythropotamos river basin was carried out in the present paper, calculating the morphometric and hydro - morphometric elements of the study area with the use of Geographical Systems Information, the average daily real time evapotranspiration was calculated with the Turc method, the filtration and the runoff. Rainfall and air average temperature climate data for the study period 1950-2006 were used to apply the Turc method. The calculation of water coming from the rain was in accordance to ARCGIS program. The total filtration (26,4*106 m3) was calculated by the total water coming from the rain (26,4*106 m3) after the removal of the quantity of water required for evapotranspiration (479,2106 m3) and the quantity of the runoff water (112,3106 m3)
