Ισχαιμικό ΑΕΕ στους νέους ενήλικες (Master thesis)
Κατρανιάς, Αναστάσιος
Within a small sample of forty-one real patients of our hospital young aged 20-51 between 2007-2022 that suffered a minor or serious ischemic CNS STROKE we wanted to figure out whether our patients have the same or similar risk and etiopathogenic factors with the worldwide literature. Furthermore, we wanted to find out whether the inherited or not thrombophilia play an independent risk factor role for serious STROKE (NIHSS>5), or this happens only in the presence of another cardiovascular pathology. Our retrospective essay took place in the military hospital of Thessaloniki, and we took anonymously informative elements from the patient’s data such as sex, age, weight, BMI, lack of everyday exercise, smoke, alcohol, preexisting thrombophilia, cardiovascular (any kind) pathology, etc.
With the use of Z test, T test, and Person chi- square test and throughout our everyday confronts such as not complete laboratory tests and resonance examinations our data are near to the reality and showed us a high incidence of risk factors such as OBESITY, LACK OF EXERCISE, HYPRLIPIDEMIA, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, SMOKING AND ALCOHOL USE, GENETIC THROMBOFILIAS etc. with the first three of them with a higher presence in our small sample of patients.
Our second question if any inherited THROMBOFILIAS play an independent role for serious ischemic STROKE our results did not prove this hypothesis in a statistical important manner according to the literature going against our clinical findings within our sample which approach the number of almost 65%. In the third place finally the combination of thrombophilia and cardiac pathology was not enough to accept the third hypothesis of our essay. Going to the last conclusion we should promote critical change of today’s way of life to lose weight, enhance everyday physical activity, lower the lipids, reduce high BP, and stop the use of alcohol and smoke etc. and in the parallel investigate all genetic thrombophilia that are present constantly with a high incidence of our small sample and with the combination of all above turn out to Stroke in the young people that globally refer up to 15% of all strokes and with the incidence of them getting higher every year at least in the USA where the most trials took place.
