Η επίδραση της ενεργειακής κρίσης στην ενεργειακή πολιτική της ΕΕ (Master thesis)
Χατζόπουλος, Πρόδρομος Γ.
The decarbonization of the energy sector has recently become a key factor in reshaping the energy systems of European countries, especially those of the European Union. In fact, one of the most important goals of the EU climate change programme is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The EU hopes that by 2050, all member states will achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. These cases raise a lot of questions about the methods used to achieve this goal.
In fact, the energy sector of these EU member states is very diverse, especially in terms of energy mix or technological advancements. These doubts are mainly relevant in countries that are still highly dependent on the mining sector. While coal is still strategically important to the Greek economy, Greece can be an example of a country that has significantly reduced coal production and consumption, even though a few years ago its energy mix was still 70-80% based on coal. The purpose of this paper is to define the methods and measures adopted by Greece to promote the energy sector. In addition, research is being conducted on the impact of the energy crisis on EU energy policy.
