Investigating the action of transformational leadership on critical employee performance factors (Master thesis)

In today's highly competitive business environment, the choice of the appropriate leadership style by the leaders of an organization, combined with the development of suitable processes and practices for the growth and utilization of the human resources at their disposal, aiming at their highest performance, is a primary need for achieving strategic advantage. The main objective of this diploma thesis is to examine the impact of transformational leadership on employee performance, by creating and empirically testing a research model that covers various dimensions. The structured questionnaire used for data collection was developed after an extensive literature review and subjected to scientific analysis. The research sample includes employees from various sectors of the public and private sectors, with different characteristics. Data analysis revealed statistically significant effects, emphasizing the importance of Human Resource Management in the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. The research findings also highlight the importance of HRM practices that enhance engagement, support transformational leadership and reduce burnout. Also, the research points to the significance employee engagement and intention to stay as mediating factors that link HRM practices to employee performance. The diploma thesis proposes continuous monitoring of these factors and the development of Human Resource Management practices to enhance transformational leadership and employee engagement for the benefit of employee performance
