Uncontrolled waste from human activity poses a significant hazard to the world, making it a critical issue. Waste from agricultural, specifically olive oil production, is included in this category. The ever-increasing demand for olive oil has fueled a boom in the olive growing business. Countries that knew nothing about olive farming a few years ago and did not even consider it a crop in their culture are now busily planting olive trees in every accessible productive region of their country. On the other hand, nations that were previously olive producers, are growing the number of grown olive trees in every way to be able to react to this new trend that wants olive oil to be the first to be consumed globally in comparison to other fats and oils. The rapid development of the sector has resulted in a significant amount of waste from olive fruit processing during olive oil production, which cannot be managed effectively. Thus, European Directives and domestic legislation is being re-enacted or altered to promote environmentally beneficial practices such as processing, recycling, and reusing waste from olive mills. Innovative goods are also being distributed. Efforts are underway to "green" olive oil production and by-product processing, with incentives offered for environmentally friendly practices. Utilizing by-products from olive mill waste can benefit agriculture and animal husbandry.
