Energy security is a multifaceted issue that concerns national security and foreign strategy. It is also a global issue related to international energy supply and energy geopolitics. Globally, the distributions of energy production and energy consumption do not have similar patterns. Therefore, it is impossible for most countries to abandon international cooperation and obtain energy security guarantees. This thesis will provide a comprehensive analysis of the role of Revithusa in the energy security of Greece. It explores various aspects, such as the importance of energy security, the evolution of energy policies globally and in Greece, and in particular the strategic role of the island of Revithoussa in the Greek energy infrastructure. The paper delves into the different dimensions of energy security, the European energy scenario, as well as the challenges and strategies for the management of energy resources, with emphasis on energy policies, challenges and advances in Greece. The aim of this thesis is to present the main conclusions on the role of Revithoussa in strengthening the energy security of both Greece and Europe. The challenges faced and the strategies adopted by Greece to ensure a stable and secure energy supply will be mentioned. Furthermore, the implications of these strategies for Greece's future in terms of energy independence and economic development will be analysed.
