In this thesis, an attempt is made to highlight the contribution of Liquefied Natural Gas to the assurance of energy supply for the EU and its member states. In the Introduction we will attempt to present the importance of Energy for the economic, social and political well-being of the EU countries as well as the forms of energy in a brief historical review. In the first Chapter we will focus on the EU Energy Policy from the beginnings of its creation and the evolution to the transition to LNG, presenting the Energy Packages from 1996 to 2024. In the second Chapter we will try to highlight how and why the energy crises in the EU in recent decades, due to repeated geopolitical and economic developments, necessitate the transition to LNG, and we will explore how the European Union has tried, from the mid-1990s until today, to create the regulatory framework, to ensure the Energy Supply with Natural Gas and the connection of the PA with Liquefied Natural Gas. In the third Chapter, we will seek to highlight the advantages and the contribution of LNG to ensuring the energy supply of Europe and our country, as a tool to ensure our political and economic autonomy, our technological and scientific progress and, above all, conservation and development of the principles and values of our way of life.
