Η ελληνογερμανική ενεργειακή συνεργασία (Master thesis)

Ουζουνίδου, Χαρούλα/ Ouzounidou, Charoula

The topic of this thesis is the energy cooperation between Greece and Germany. Starting with the European energy transition, this relates to the European Union’s strategies for a more sustainable and environmentally “clean” planet, with the main goal of reducing energy dependence on fossil fuels. Key pillars of the energy transition include strengthening energy security, improving energy efficiency, using “clean” forms of energy, and enhancing the European energy market. The Greek-German cooperation aims to develop Renewable Energy Sources, increase energy efficiency, and promote green technologies. This bilateral cooperation aligns with broader European energy policy and the climate goals it sets. Specifically, the areas in which the cooperation focuses are wind and solar energy. Greece has considerable potential by leveraging its natural resources, while Germany, on the other hand, provides the expertise and resources needed to achieve their shared goals. Energy efficiency involves reducing energy consumption and saving energy. This bilateral cooperation involves policy reforms, long-term plans, and strategies to better achieve climate goals. The development of photovoltaic stations and wind farms are some of the “fruits” of this cooperation, aligning with the European Union’s goals for clean energy and sustainable development.
