The subject of this thesis is the security of energy installations, including submarine pipelines and cables after the Nord Stream attack. In order to make the issue of security of energy installations more understandable, it is necessary to analyse both the legal status of laying submarine pipelines and cables in each of the maritime zones and to refer to the Nord Stream attack which posed a threat to energy security in the European Union. Finally, extensive reference is also made to international environmental law, which is an issue inextricably linked to the safety of energy installations, given that the consequences of laying submarine pipelines and submarine cables can be particularly harmful to the environment.
