Love of reading and modern practices of book promotion to preschool children (Bachelor thesis)

Χαραλαμπίδου, Μαρία/ Charalampidou, Maria

The study investigates the cultivation and promotion of a love of reading in preschool children as well as the factors that contribute to this development. It focuses on the role of the family and school environment in cultivating a love of reading in preschool children. It is undeniable that by creating the right conditions for a love of reading to flourish, children learn to respect books and build a loving relationship with them that will accompany them throughout their lives as members of society. The present research was carried out through the qualitative method, specifically through the semi-structured interview with 10 kindergarten teachers, who were asked to position themselves on whether they themselves consider that they cultivate "friendship with reading" in children and what practices they use so that children love the book? The findings reveal interesting facts about how modern pre-school educators perceive love of reading as well as the importance they give to the use of books for the formation of children's personality and their social-emotional development.
