The present thesis examines the treatment of municipal wastewater using electro-oxidation and its combination with photocatalysis. Initially, the performance of electro-oxidation with boron-doped diamond (BDD) anodes under different current intensities was examined. Subsequently, the combined treatment of wastewater by electrooxidation and photocatalysis via ultraviolet radiation was studied, with and without a photocatalytic metal-organic framework (MOF) material. The effectiveness of the processes was evaluated based on the measurement of chemical oxygen demand (COD) at predetermined time intervals and the calculation of its percentage change, the control of pH and the visual observation of the color change of the samples. The experimental results showed that electrooxidation with BDD anodes led to a significant reduction in organic load, with COD values below the detection limit (COD < 50). Furthermore, the application of ultraviolet radiation to electrooxidation resulted in faster degradation of organic pollutants, with a reduction in COD already from the initial stages compared to isolated electrooxidation. However, the addition of a MOF photocatalyst did not present a comparatively improved result, indicating that the synergistic effect of the processes depends on the operating parameters and the appropriate choice of photocatalyst. Overall, the process highlights both potential and limitations, highlighting the need to optimize and recombine operational parameters to achieve reproducible synergistic action
