Construction of a symmetrical variable voltage power supply 0-20V (Bachelor thesis)

Παχατουρίδης, Αχιλλέας/ Pachatouridis, Achilleas

The development of symmetrical variable voltage power supplies is a crucial focus in modern electronics, driven by the increasing demand for efficient, adaptable, and compact power solutions. This paper provides a thorough economic and technical analysis of the design, development, and production of these power supplies, taking into account both financial and performance factors to a ssess their feasibility and effectiveness. The economic analysis includes estimated costs for key components such as transformers, rectifiers, voltage controllers, heat sinks, capacitors, and resistors, as well as the materials, labor, and overhead costs i nvolved in manufacturing. The technical analysis examines performance considerations, with particular attention to the efficiency, reliability, and versatility of power supply systems in applications like telecommunications, medical equipment, and consumer electronics. The research highlights the importance of miniaturization, energy efficiency, and the integration of renewable energy sources, while also addressing environmental sustainability through recyclable materials and eco eco-friendly design principles. By combining both economic and technical perspectives, this study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with developing symmetrical variable voltage power supplies and offer insights into future innov ations in this vital area of electronic design
