This thesis focuses on the development of a smart IoT system for monitoring hydrometeorological data related to flood phenomena. The system collects rainfall, temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, wind gusts and water-level measurements. The collected data are processed and categorized into degrees of risk using fuzzy logic. The measurements and the resulting risk category are transmitted via the LoRaWAN protocol through The Things Network (TTN) and visualized in ThingSpeak. The work concludes with a functional prototype for continuous hydrometeorological monitoring, risk categorization and reliable wireless data transmission.
